DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Under the general supervision of the Superintendent or designee, the Special Project Technician is responsible for the registration process of Adult Education and Dual Enrollment Applications.

The Special Project Technician will collect the data from students and teachers to prepare and maintain reports related to the Adult Education Consortium and the College Dual Enrollment process;

will maintain accounts for student class rosters, grades, and follow-up surveys; conduct community outreach, provide leadership to all school sites in the planning and the implementation of Special Project Technician Technicians such as Internships / Job Shadow, Work Based Learning, CTE Skills Competitions, etc.

The Special Project Technician will also perform and plan specific operational activities, and provide community outreach for the Adult Education Program and or other Programs as need.

Position involves driving to a variety of locations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Student / Teacher Adult School / Dual Enrollment Records & Data Collection

  • Under the supervision of the Director, the Special Project Technician is responsible for compiling all Adult School and College Dual Enrollment data collected.
  • Maintains and analysis all information for all Adult School Programs & College Dual Enrollment processed.
  • Conducts community outreach for all Adult Education recruitment for classes.
  • Acts as liaison to school sites regarding Adult School and Dual Enrollment.
  • Communicates with school personnel and teachers to coordinate all Adult School classes.
  • Recruits and creates promotions for Adult School Programs.
  • Helps organize, plan and coordinate the development of student competitions ie Tiger ROmP etc.
  • Pursues outside sponsorships for student events.
  • Responsible for coordinating and maintaining assigned special programs, Regional and Site Based such as Work Based Learning, Internships and other related programs or projects.
  • The Program Specialist will be the first point of contact for teachers regarding Adult School paperwork.
  • Reports to Administration all Adult School and Dual Enrollment data using different applications and Students Management Systems
  • Shares documentation and reports required by the colleges, schools and Adult Ed. Consortium
  • Shares data with Districts regarding Adult School and Dual Enrollment.
  • Assists Student Services Technicians with DOJ Fingerprinting process.
  • Responsible for maintaining Social Media accounts for Public Relations and communications.
  • Maintains all the Adult Education schedules, courses and attendance.
  • Provides technical guidance and related support to Adult School Programs and Classes
  • Provides communication regarding Adult School classes with corresponding sites and teachers.
  • Creates and revises internal office and student services forms or documents as needed.
  • Maintains calendar and training schedule for the Career Training Center.
  • Assists Directors with student competition rosters, attendance and communication related to the Member District Schools.
  • Assist with managing on-site and off-site production of Valley ROP sponsored events.
  • Assists with Work Based Leaning Projects
  • Assists with students’ outreach
  • Communicates with various school personnel from teachers to counselors, classified staff and Administration about students projects
  • Schedule and administer student / staff satisfaction surveys conducted in March or when necessary.
  • Collects and assist with surveys and compile data for annual reports by June 1.
  • Create and distribute student follow-up surveys annually as appropriate for Adult Schools and other programs; compile data, prepare reports, and submit reports as required for CDE.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree preferred but not required
  • Minimum of three years’ experience of progressively responsible project management.
  • Familiar with Adult school & Dual Enrollment processes
  • Budgeting and accounting knowledge
  • Valid California Driver’s License
  • CPR and First Aid Certifications
  • Must obtain fingerprint clearance
  • Must pass TB test WORKING CONDITIONS Environment
  • 60% of time on sites traveling and 40% in Office environment, constant interruptions
  • Noise level is usually moderate Physical Abilities
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment
  • Reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally to maintain and retrieve files
  • Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person or on the telephone
  • Seeing to assure complete and accurate reports and letters
  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time

  • Lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to) : $20.00 - $24.00 Per Hour
